The heart of Greek tourism which carries on the upward course was beating during Philoxenia and Hotelia fairs – held in November 12-15 at Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center – as there was a 17% increase in visitors.
 
 
Additionally, participation in parallel events was equally high. The Destination Thessaloniki conference stood out while DPOINT Hotel Village attracted many visitors along with the original event “The Art of Drinking Coffee & Spirit” which was dedicated to the art of coffee, cocktail and spirit making.

Based exclusively on the attendance of trade visitors, there was a 17% increase during Philoxenia compared to last year’s organization while in Hotelia the corresponding amount reached the 95% compared to Hotelia 2014.

There was a 39% increase in trade buyers from aboard during Philoxenia and +78% during Hotelia.

Philoxenia welcome 107 hosted buyers from 32 countries who attended over 3.000 arranged meetings with the exhibitors.

The Art of Drinking, Philoxenia & Hotelia 2015
 
The Philoxenia exhibitors were 351 – 232 in the previous organization – and came from Serbia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Tunisia, Egypt, Albania, Philippines, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Fyrom, Indonesia, Cyprus, Czech Republic and Slovakia while the exhibition space covered was 25% larger. As for Hotelia, it attracted 157 exhibitors – 141 last year.

The next meeting of Greek tourism is held in November 17-20 of 2016, when the 32nd International Tourism Exhibition, Philoxenia and the International Hotel Equipment Exhibition, Hotelia will take place in Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center.

Philoxenia & Hotelia were held under the auspices of the Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction, EOT as well as all great tourism-related bodies of the country such as SETE, GHC, HATTA and GTP. As far as Polis is concerned, it was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction, Greek Municipalities Central Association and Region Association.
